Custom Signals Manager: Bohdan Krasulya

Meet Our Custom Signals Manager: Bodhan Krasulya

Since we launched the Custom Signals department, Bodhan has managed and grown our entire signals department at Web 2.0 Ranker.

During his 6 years in SEO, Bodhan has completed offsite optimization of 1000+ websites, which enables him to achieve the best results for customers while coordinating our ever-growing Custom Signals department.

How long have you worked with Web 20?

A little over a year. I started as part of the GMB Department during the middle of the pandemic and was then promoted to be the Custom Signals Department Manager a short time after.

What does your job entail?

The main idea of the Custom Signals service and, accordingly, my direct work is to search and identify additional opportunities and create signals that are used by the competitors, but at the same time were missed by the client. This approach allows our team to help reduce the gap in visibility between the customers company and competitors in the search results, which in turn, with the right match of SEO work, increases the effectiveness of ranking both – website and GMB listing in the search results. Naturally, I have many other responsibilities as a manager of an ever-growing department. I am responsible for a large number of employees, their training, quality control, reporting, creating of new features and add-ons, customer support, and much more.

What do you like most about your job?

Most of all, I love helping clients achieve the desired result. When I see positive feedback on the work of my team, it means that we are doing everything right. I enjoy learning new things and sharing my knowledge with the team, which I can happily do every day thanks to this job.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

Responsibility – I can say with confidence that I am a responsible person and for me, it is always a priority to fulfill my obligations to the customers as well as to the team. Also – the opportunity to gain new experiences, because we are constantly learning something new. Each new order, new niche, or a new approach to performing various tasks is another step towards improvement.

How has Web 20 helped you in your career development?

Web20 is like a huge pool of knowledge in which you can swim, pump your skills, and immediately test them on practice if you know what I mean. I am surrounded by great specialists who have unique knowledge in various fields of SEO, marketing, business and they are always ready to share these knowledge. Web 20 has given me the opportunity to improve and advance from my first day here.

What advice do you have for prospective Web 20 candidates?

If you are a responsible person, you have the knowledge and you are ready to learn – this is already a huge plus. My advice is you should be a “universal soldier”. I mean, you have to be ready to learn and complete any task in the field in which you work, plus something more. Often, “something more” is a factor that will help you move beyond those who do the minimum.

What drew you to Web 20 originally? And how has Web 20 changed since?

Years ago, when I was just starting to study the specifics on the work of a SEO specialist, everything was a little different. Not many people even understood what SEO was all about. So I started working on freelance sites, and during that time I gained experience with companies in various positions, promoted local businesses and projects of my own, but still seeking opportunity to work elsewhere.  I was contacted by a representative of Web 20, with a job offer. I studied the details about the company and was left with a very good impression. I decided this was a great opportunity and I responded to the offer.

Since then, I have climbed the career ladder to manager of a new department, and here I am. In my initial interview I was told – “at Web20 Ranker we have great conditions for career growth”, and that statement was absolutely right!

The Custom Signals department has grown from one person to dozens of people who work on orders every day, and we continue to grow. The same applies to the improvements of the Custom Signals service itself. We are constantly working on new addons, many of which have already been implemented, as well as implementing unique content for each signal.

Change is happening all the time, and this applies not only to the Custom Signals but to the entire company as we are constantly striving to improve the results for our clients!

What have you gained from working at Web 20?

I’ve gained a lot of friends, knowledge, experience, and successful cases.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

There is not much free time left, but I try to spend it with benefits, for example sports, reading, developing my own projects and family of course.

One quote you live by

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today

How do you define success?

I think that success is when not only you are happy with yourself, but also the people you know can say the same about you.

What has been your favorite project at Web 20?

One day the Customer Success Manager Bucky, decided to order Custom Signals for his own Marketing Agency in order to check the effectiveness of the service. What can I say, Bucky liked the results so much that he still gives examples of the results of this company and recommends the service based on his own experience, which is a pleasant compliment for our team.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I’ve had quite a few strange jobs, but perhaps the strangest one was cleaning salmon in Alaska. I even froze my toe on this job. So I am glad that I am working in the field of internet marketing now (:

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would like to learn how to fly a jet just because it’s super cool.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

This will be a super commonplace answer – Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe Web 20?

My Second Family
