Repotting. How to grow catnip from cuttings. The difficulty is simple. Catmint can grow in almost any soil, but sandier soil tends to produce more aromatic plants. Growing catnip plants: Catnip can be grown in garden beds or pots – 2-4′ x 2-4′. Outdoors, catnip seeds readily. Water frequently after initial sowing. Catnip has a long history, with one of the first documented in the Roman city of Nepeti.

One might assume that catnip only gets cats high, but this product is a safe mixture that stimulates body movement. This is a catnip collected, and then the leaves are dried and cut into lovely pieces. Reviewers say our pets catnip is very appealing to cats. Best catnip catniputopia.com. Unfortunately, catnip is so attractive to some cats that they lie on it, roll on it and chew it to death. Catnip, also called Nepeta cataria, cat herb or catmint, is a perennial herb closely related to the mint family.

Catnip Spray vs CBD Oil With CBD

Catnip Oil vs. CBD Oil: 3 Main Differences You Should Know

No, CBD oil does not give cats a “high” feeling. The only effect is the immediate relief of CBD for cats. Many people believe that catnip can get cats high. You know what I’m talking about if you’ve ever seen a cat go nuts after smelling catnip…, you’ll understand why the plant is called “cat herb”. “Cat weed”, on the other hand, has nothing to do with hemp or marijuana. In short, since cannabidiol has no psychoactive effects, there is no such thing as a CBD oil high.

Lolahemp was created by a dog rescuer who discovered the benefits of CBD. as an effective remedy for her Chihuahua’s anxiety – without the side effects of medication. Looking for high-quality CBD oil and treats for your pup that won’t break your bank account? Canna-pet makes CBD oils and capsules for dogs, cats and horses, and a range of CBD dog biscuits. They claim that their products offer 10-15 times the bioavailability of other hemp products. However, hemp oils are made from cannabis seeds and contain little to no amounts of CBD.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive constituent of marijuana. Cannabis and hemp plants also contain this cannabinoid. However, CBD oil from hemp and CBD oil from marijuana are not the same. However, the difference between CBD oil from hemp and CBD oil from marijuana is mainly in the number of tetrahydrocannabinols (THC). Hemp is used to making most CBD goods because it has low THC content compared to marijuana and has been legal in the US since the Farm Bill passage in 2018. However, as this is considered toxic to animals, namely dogs and cats, products such as catnip spray should be 100% THC-free to ensure their safety.

Catnip appears to be available only as a botanical species (Nepeta cataria); there does not appear to be any organised effort to cultivate catnip varieties. However, it has been reported that there are differences in yield potential and chemical composition between commercially available seed lines. Catmint prefers sites with full sun, well-drained soil and adequate moisture. This herb can be propagated by seed, stem cuttings or division. Commercially grown catnip is usually sown and grown in a greenhouse or cold frame until the plants are the right size for transplanting. Greenhouse floating beds and transplanting machines designed for tobacco products can also be used for catnip.

The advantages and length of catnip oil are both short-lived.

Cultivation: Catmint does very well in containers, raised beds or borders in full sun to partial shade. Cut the plant just above a joint or where a leaf or leaves protrude from the stem to encourage faster new growth. Catmint plants can be grown in garden beds or pots: any average, well-drained soil. When you are ready to harvest, choose a dry day and remove only the flowering catnip. Known for its ability to induce a “high” in cats, catnip has attracted cats for more than two documented centuries.

3. The benefits of CBD oil are long-lasting.

CBD oil will help your furry pal even if he or she is not sick. Cannabidiol (CBD) for cats promotes overall well-being and can prevent the development of severe health conditions and improve your cat’s mood, coat and eating habits. Simply put, CBD can make your cat happier, a little chubbier, and their coat softer and shinier. Perfect for cuddling. How do I buy the best organic CBD oil for cats?

Holistapet CBD Dog Treats + Heart & Immune Care.

Our blueberry and sweet potato flavoured dog treats are specially formulated with blueberries, flaxseed and sweet potato to boost the immune system, promote cardiovascular health and support healthy coat and skin. These unique ingredients combined with other vital superfoods such as hemp seed powder and full-spectrum CBD oil are crucial for preventing infection and disease and maintaining a strong heart and healthy immune system. These superfoods are your best defence in preventing infection, disease and malaise. In addition, this formula benefits your pet’s overall health and well-being.

We use pet-safe coconut oil and hemp seed oil as carrier oils in our tinctures for added health benefits. Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain triglycerides, and hemp seed oil is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Each 1oz bottle contains approximately 90 servings. This tincture comes with a child-proof lid and an eye dropper with ml markings. Ingredients

CBD oil, hemp seed oil, coconut oil, catnip oil.

Catnip sprays are made up of filtered water and catnip oil. These sprays, when combined with cannabidiol, can be used not only for cat entertainment but also for medicinal purposes. Catnip spray with CBD is indeed a treat as well as a way to keep your cat’s physical and mental health in check. Many cat lovers prefer using these sprays with CBD because of the health benefits it offers. Apart from the above reason, catnip sprays are also more convenient to use, plus the fact that it helps to avoid the mess that cats make when fresh or dried alternatives are used.

Is CBD oil safe for cats?
If you’re still not convinced that CBD oil is safe for cats, or even if you already use CBD and have experienced its effects first-hand, these insightful facts will give you more information and perhaps a few surprises about how much CBD can help your four-legged friend.

Most CBD products are derived from hemp, as it contains less THC than marijuana and has been legal in the US since the Farm Bill passage in 2018. However, since THC is considered toxic to animals, especially dogs and cats, products like catnip spray should be 100% THC-free to ensure their safety. Something to think about every time you’re out shopping for your cat.

CBD oil does not help with kidney disease in cats, and this is empirically proven. On the other hand, CBD can help cats with kidney disease by relieving uncomfortable symptoms such as nausea. Before offering your cat a supplement like CBD oil, always consult your vet.

Spotify CEO ‘very serious’ about Arsenal takeover bid

Spotify CEO ‘very serious’ about Arsenal takeover bid

New York (AFP) – Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek says he wants to bring back the “glory” to Arsenal as he plans to test the resolve of the club’s American billionaire owner Stan Kroenke with a takeover bid.

Kroenke, through his Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) business, has been the Gunners’ majority shareholder for a decade and took full control of the club by buying out Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov’s stake in 2018.

Arsenal’s performances on the pitch have declined markedly during the Kroenke reign.

The London club have not won a Premier League title since 2003/04 and are set to miss out on a top-four finish in the English top flight for a fifth consecutive season.

Kroenke’s part in the failed European Super League (ESL) project further angered success-starved fans.

Arsenal were one of 12 clubs to initially sign up to proposals for the breakaway competition but, along with five other English clubs, withdrew from the plans within 48 hours after a fierce backlash from fans, players, governing bodies and the British government.

Thousands of supporters protested outside the Emirates Stadium before Friday’s 1-0 defeat by Everton, calling for Kroenke to sell the club.

On Tuesday, KSE said it had no intention of selling, despite reports of Ek’s interest.

“In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club,” read a KSE statement.

“We remain 100 percent committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the club. We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.”

However, Ek, who says he has supported the club for 30 years, believes he has the funding to make a serious offer.

“I’m very serious,” the Swedish billionaire told CNBC on Wednesday. “You know, I have secured the funds for it, and I want to bring what I think is a very compelling offer to the owners and I hope they hear me out.

“I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was eight years old. Arsenal is my team. I love the history. I love the players. And of course, I love the fans.

“So as I look at that, I just see a tremendous opportunity to set a real vision for the club to bring it back to its glory. And I want to establish trust with fans and I want to engage the fans again.”

According to reports, Arsenal greats Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp would be part of an advisory group in a takeover bid.

“All I can do is prepare what I think is a very thoughtful offer, and bring it to them and hope they hear me out,” added Ek.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta defended the commitment of KSE to improving results on the pitch.

Arteta’s side are 10th in the Premier League and on course for their worst league finish since 1995.

“The reality is that we have owners who are really, really committed and want a successful team on the pitch and are going to do everything on the pitch to achieve that,” said the Spaniard.

Arsenal could play themselves back into the lucrative Champions League should they win the Europa League — they travel to Villarreal for the first leg of their semi-final on Thursday.

What to Do If You Lost All Your Google Reviews after Accidentally Deleting Your GMB Page

What to Do If You Lost All Your Google Reviews after Accidentally Deleting Your GMB Page

https://www.flickr.com/photos/ceonyc/118755198/

As I’ve observed and written for many years, your Google reviews are never completely safe – and never completely gone.  You can lose them in bulk or in a drip.  You can lose them because of Google’s filter, manual removal, a bug, or a reviewer’s change of heart.  You can also lose your Google reviews – all of them – in a puff of smoke when trying to move to a different Google account.

The specific scenario I’m thinking of is that you deleted a G Suite account or other Google account and thought your Google My Business page and reviews wouldn’t be affected, only to discover that both your GMB page and your pile of reviews are gone.

Oops.

If it makes you feel better, Google’s messaging often is unclear, such that routine steps sound scary and shooting yourself in the foot is easy.

That recently happened to a guy I sometimes do consulting with.  He wanted to move away from a G Suite account, in favor of a self-hosted email address used for Google properties.  Turned out that G Suite account was the only one he used to manage his Google My Business page.  In the process of deleting that G Suite account, his GMB page went poof – along with the 60 reviews he had earned over the last 7 years and the power that goes with them.  Gone without a trace.

He got in touch, told me what happened, I asked some questions, and we put together a plan.  A few days later, and without too much back-and-forth between me and him or him and Google, we got all 60 reviews back.

Now’s probably a good time to say that I do NOT want you to do the steps below if your GMB page is still up (as in accessible in Google Maps) and is missing only reviews.  If you didn’t accidentally nuke your page, but you’re shy some reviews, then something else is going on and the steps below are not the solution to your problem.

Below is what I suggest you do to recover your Google reviews if you lost your Google My Business page and its reviews because you pressed the wrong buttons.

1. Create and owner-verify a NEW Google My Business page, in whatever account you like.

Presumably it’s not the same one your page used to be in. For the love of Pete, at least make sure it’s an an account that you will keep around for the long haul and will want to use for years to come.  Use the same name, address, phone number, and landing page URL you had in the old GMB page.  The other details (e.g. description) don’t matter, but now is not the time to change the basic info you use on your page.

The reason you need a new page is simple: Google needs a place to transplant the reviews if and when they’re exhumed.  I’d guess a secondary reason is security: Google needs to know you’re the same person as the one who deleted the old page, and are still located where you say you are.  (That would make it harder for someone to hijack your GMB page.)  For that reason, I don’t suggest trying to get the old page back now, or back at all.  The goal is to get your reviews back, and that’s less likely to happen if you don’t have a GMB page and can’t or won’t create a new one.

2. Contact Google My Business support, and tell them the facts:

  • The name and location of both the vanished GMB page and of the new one (the one you just verified).
  • What you were trying to do and what happened instead.
  • How many reviews the old page had.
  • The usernames / email addresses used for the old GMB page and for the new one (the one you want the reviews dug up and moved to).
  • If possible, provide a link to the old Google My Business page. You may have that link handy if you sent a link to customers when asking them to review you.

3. Provide info the Google rep asks for, and follow up as needed.

It shouldn’t be a super-long process, but if all your reviews are gone it may seem like an eternity. You probably won’t need the patience of an oyster, but it’s good to have one anyway.  Whatever your opinions of Google as a company, the GMB support reps do try to help, and in general are helpful.

That’s it.  Of course, I can’t promise Google will do what you need, or do it soon.  But it’s your only move.  The main thing is to do step #1 quickly, rather than to flounder around in an attempt to get back your GMB page and the reviews in one motion.

I don’t like it any more than you do, mainly because I’m a bit of a purist, in that I don’t like solutions that involve relying on someone else’s discretion.  In any event, the above process worked in the situation I described, and should work for you if you’re in the same situation or a similar one.

Thanks to Lenny Kammes of Kammes Colorworks in Elburn, IL, for chronicling the whole shootin’ match.

Do you have – or have you had – a TARFU situation like that?  Leave a comment!

(By the way, though I haven’t seen anyone talk about this exact problem or solution, please tell me if you know of a blog post or other resource on the topic, so I can give the author his or her due credit.)

Taking Your Pet on a Trip to Europe

Taking Your Pet on a Trip to Europe

Taking Your Pet on a Trip to Europe

Although Aer Lingus is a smaller airline, their pet policy is tailor-made for pets with big dreams! If you are travelling within Europe or flying across the Atlantic, arrangements can be made for your cat or dog. You may not be able to travel with your pet in the cabin, but In the hold, you can rest assured that your pet will be safe and protected. And secure in the hold.

If you are travelling to Europe or Northern Ireland with your cat from 1 January 2021, you will no longer use the current pet passport scheme. Instead, you will need to go through a separate process before leaving the country. For more information about the new animal health certificate (ahc) and guidance on travelling with pets to Europe and Northern Ireland * from 1 January 2021, visit the gov. Uk website or our dedicated Brexit pets page.

Most airlines only allow a few animals on board, so get tickets early. Explain the situation when booking – for example, as I mentioned that I would be travelling with a cat that meows a lot, the assistant suggested a seat based on this detail. Some sections of the plane are probably better than others. Required: If you are travelling internationally and changing flights, call the airline operating the particular flight. For example, if you are flying New York – London – Athens, you will need to find out which partner airline operates the European leg of that route and whether that airline will take a cat on board.

taking your pet on a trip to europe

Travelling to Europe with pets can be surprisingly easy. It’s almost as easy for pets to travel in Europe as it is for humans, even with Brexit on the horizon. Fill out a European pet passport application first. Your pet will need a 15-digit pet microchip that complies with ISO standard 11784. The microchip number and any vaccination certificates should be included in the pet passport. If your pet is a puppy, you must have up-to-date rabies and tapeworm vaccination after attaching the microchip.

Get an EU pet passport.

Cats, rats, and ferrets will all get pet passports. and are intended to last the entire life of your pet. You can enter the UK and other EU countries without the need for a pet passport or quarantine, provided you follow the pet travel rules. However, once you are in the EU and intend to travel within EU member states, life will be much easier if you get an EU pet passport.

The following is the latest advice (11 December 2020) from the Animal Health Agency and may change should Brexit negotiations change in the coming weeks. The UK will become a Part 2 nation about the EU and pet travel at 23:00 on 31 December 2020. Travellers to Europe with their pets (dogs, cats or ferrets) will no longer be able to use a UK-issued EU pet passport.

If the Eurostar is not an option, you can take a ferry to the other side of the Channel and hire a car there. If you are travelling with a large group or a pet, this is a good option. It is also possible to take your car on the ferry. Another option is to take the Le Shuttle, a car transport train. You travel by your car onboard a train in the UK or France and are transported by train through the tunnel to the other country.

Taking dogs on most Thomson flights is easy and convenient. Passengers must duly complete a booking form with aia pets. In this form, passengers will also find the relevant fee information for different animals. You’ll also need a pet passport if you’re travelling to Europe with your pet. All pets are accommodated in the hold of Thomson aircraft. All travel boxes carrying pets must be equipped with water containers. Catnip is a good pacifier if you are transporting your feline friend as it is important to occupy your cat also to calm them down.

How to Prepare Your Pet for a European Vacation

Depending on how you prepare for your trip, you will encounter different authorities. The first is the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (aphis), a Food and Drug Administration division. They are responsible for making sure all your paperwork is in order. You must have a licensed veterinarian fill out the aphis 7001 form, which certifies that your pet is fit to travel and has all current vaccinations. The most important thing is that your vet is accredited with aphis.

It is feasible to travel to Europe with a small dog or cat, but you should plan and be prepared for the fees. For a fast ride, I wouldn’t go through the hassle and fees – or put my pet through the discomfort. If you are moving, going on a long trip or have any excuse to move with your pet, you should start the process as early as possible and make sure you are familiar with the criteria when you get home.

This is the basic fee we use to pay for our time researching, preparing and planning your pet’s move from start to finish. This fee does not include your pet’s plane ticket, travel crate, or other costs associated with your pet’s journey.

Nothing is faster or more convenient than air transport. So it’s no surprise that many pet owners choose to take their birds with them. According to Dr Katherine Quesenberry, Chief of the Avian and Exotic Pets Division at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, it’s perfectly healthy to fly with your pet. However, if you are flying with your pet bird, you need to be prepared. Not every airline allows parrots to board with their parents. And even if you can take your bird with you, all airlines have restrictions on when and where you can travel.

Tips & advice for travelling to Europe with a pet

One of the most challenging experiences we’ve had in terms of moving abroad was moving our cat. I adopted Lu from a shelter in the United States. Admittedly, she’s not much of a traveller, but I knew she had to come with us when we moved abroad. Since then, she has travelled with us by plane and train to four countries after our various moves in Europe. Here are my experiences of international travel with my cat, some tips for travelling with your cat and my favourite accessories for cat travel, including an airline-approved pet carrier.

British Airways has a reasonable policy that I wish they and other airlines would adopt for all passengers. After the essential $196 cost, the cost of flying with pets on British Airways is based on your pet’s weight.
To fly in the cabin, the cat or dog must weigh less than 13.2 pounds. Larger pets must fly in cargo. Please read my tips for flying with pets to Europe to ensure your pet is not quarantined, as was the case with my poodle Bentley.

Your cat or dog must be under 13 years old to fly in the cabin. They can’t be heavier than 2 pounds. Larger pets must be transported as cargo. Please read my tips for travelling with pets to Europe to find the easiest and safest way to avoid quarantine for your pet, as was the case with my travel poodle Bentley. Please all remember the difference and pay attention! Your pets rely on you as much as you rely on them!

SEO Mad Scientist ???

All right scientists, time for another exciting week of updates but this time we want your help.

As you know we’ve been testing service areas to try and better understand how they’re considered and rankings work. We were going over a Fort Lauderdale listing where we had previously removed the address. Google added the service area to the address but they didn’t add Fort Lauderdale. Instead, they added Oakland Park, FL.

When we started running our geogrids we noticed that our rankings towards the center of Fort Lauderdale started to drop and we speculated that it was possibly due to the removal of the address and that the service area was actually just North of Fort Lauderdale.

This week we went to go add Fort Lauderdale as a service area to see if those rankings could be recovered. Unfortunately for some reason Google completely stopped us from adding any additional service areas to this listing. We will try again in the future as it seems like some kind of bug but we’re not experiencing this on any of our other listings even on the same Gmail account.

This led us to do some digging into what we saw happening, however, it ended up taking us down a rabbit hole…

Let’s start with the original address that this listing was listed at.

5999-5901 NW 1st Terrace, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33334, USA

If you Google search this address you can clearly see Google says that it’s in Fort Lauderdale however, the organic search shows otherwise.

We then checked if this address was within the Fort Lauderdale city limits which we found were very confusing (city limits outlined in red).

We weren’t able to fully identify if it was inside the city limits or not but it was clearly on the upper north side if not right outside the Northside of Fort Lauderdale.

This would definitely explain why we have better rankings on the Northside but not so much in the central area of Fort Lauderdale.

So now the question is… did the listing of the address that said Fort Lauderdale give it more relevance for keywords in Fort Lauderdale or for keywords containing the term Fort Lauderdale?

This question led us to start digging into one of our old tests. We had previously taken a plumber listing located in Hanover, PA, and added the service area to Gettysburg, PA to see how it affected rankings.

We initially saw no listings when searching for keywords from Gettysburg but after doing the change we started to see our listing on page six and seven for various keywords while searching within the city limits.

At the time we did not show for Gettysburg keywords and were not showing in Gettysburg for searching our brand name.

Now we are seeing both!

This again gives the impression that the service area is somehow affecting what SERPs Google is willing to place your business in but still doesn’t show much in the way of ranking signals or relevance.

The results are minimal and with GMB being so volatile, it’s hard to make full conclusions from the results.

So what do you think?

Why do you think Google has stopped us from adding service areas to our Fort Lauderdale listing?

Is the Fort Lauderdale listing actually in Fort Lauderdale or where Google decided to put the service area?

Most importantly, is the service area having any impacts on rankings whatsoever?

Let us know what you think in the Facebook group!

We will be back next week with more data to see if we can find answers to these questions. We hope to have some results to look at on our other tests as well.

Let us know what you think in the group and until next week, Happy Testing!

Get Rid Of Ear Wax – Which Oil Removes Earwax

Get Rid Of Ear Wax – Which Oil Removes Earwax

How To Get Rid Of Earwax?

Many Ear Wax Removal Sites Across The UK

.

Before we talk about how to get rid of clogged ears, we should first look at what causes clogged ears. Below are the most common factors for blocked ears. Earwax accumulation: Earwax plays an important role in keeping the ear canal clean and free of infection, but it can accumulate to the point where it causes blockage. Factors such as excessive secretion of earwax, production of wax that is too thick or dry, very hairy or narrow ear canal, aging (which leads to the secretion of low-quality earwax), growths in the ear canal, and regular use of solid objects. You can remove the excess earwax yourself, in the comfort of your own home. Remember that your ears are sensitive, so use cotton swabs only on the outer ears.

Can a hairdryer remove earwax?

. Glycerin has lubricating and moisturizing properties that effectively help remove hardened earwax. Glycerin is readily available at any medical supply store. How to use: Using a dropper, place 4 to 5 drops of glycerin in the affected ear. Then stick a piece of absorbent cotton on the ear opening for a few hours. Then remove the cotton ball, rinse the ears with warm water, and then dry the ears with a paper towel or a hairdryer. Do not rinse the ear or use drops to soften the earwax if the eardrum has a hole or if you have recently had ear surgery. Do not rinse the ear with a jet rinse designed for cleaning teeth. After removing the earwax, dry the ear thoroughly. You can put a few drops of alcohol in the ear or use a hairdryer on low to dry the ear. Soak the earwax with warm mineral oil and dissolve it. You can also try hydrogen peroxide mixed with an equal amount of water at room temperature. Put two drops of the liquid warmed to body temperature in the ear twice a day for up to 5 days. If the earwax is loose and soft, a gentle warm shower is usually enough to remove it from the ear canal. Direct water into the ear and then tilt your head to allow the wax to drain away. Dry your ear thoroughly with a hairdryer on low. Hold the hairdryer a few inches away from your ear.

How do you know if you have earwax?

. Get rid of earwax Tamworth Ear wax doesn’t usually command much respect. It is often considered a somewhat disgusting secretion. In reality, it is a beneficial substance and helps keep our ears healthy. Earwax is technically known as cerumen. It coats the skin lining the ear canal and carries dirt, hair, dead cells, and other debris out of the ear canal. It also kills microorganisms. By performing these tasks, earwax helps protect the eardrum from injury. The eardrum is located at the end of the ear canal and plays an important role in our ability to hear. According to the Mayo Clinic, the best home remedy for removing earwax is to soften the earwax, rinse the ear canal with warm water, and then dry the ear canal. This should only be done in people without tubes or holes in their eardrums. According to the Mayo Clinic, softening the wax in the ear canal can be done with hydrogen peroxide, baby oil, mineral oil, or glycerin. A few drops in each ear twice a day for up to four to five days is sufficient to soften the wax. A day or two after the wax has softened, you should carefully introduce warm water into the ear canal. It is best to use a syringe with a rubber ball and body-warm water.

Which oil removes earwax?

Baby oil can also be used significantly to remove earwax. It softens the earwax and makes it easy to remove. What you need to do is. Take a dropper and fill it with baby oil. Tilt your head to one side and put a few drops of baby oil in your ear. Cover your ear with a cotton ball to prevent the oil from running out. Sweet oil helps clean the ear and effectively removes earwax. Take some sweet oil in a dropper and put it in the clogged ear. Lie on your side and leave it for some time. Then tilt your head to let the oil drain completely.

Properties Staged Professionally Sell Faster – How To Sell A House Antioch CA

Tips for Home Staging - How to sell a house

Are you a home seller or the owner of a house that has been sitting on the market for an extended period of time? Have you thought about getting advice from professional home stagers?

Many sellers are tempted to look at staging as an expensive extravagance.  Staging a home will actually save the seller money by increasing their home’s value and getting more buyers interested in it.

In fact, recent research shows that properties staged professionally sell faster and for higher prices than those that aren’t staged at all.

Staging is the new name for the design and decorating to give a home an appearance that buyers are drawn to.

Appliances that are kept in the kitchen are must-haves, especially dishwashers and refrigerators. More buyers today want a large kitchen or nice eating area in their home. Therefore, you should not move large appliances.

A smaller refrigerator can be a huge selling point. Cleared off shelves can be displaying wonderful pictures, cookbooks, table settings and a lot of other items you can display.

Staging Can Bring Out The Best Features Of A Home

Kitchen counters should also be clear of clutter. A well-organized kitchen is much easier to show. You should also remove any wall-to-wall carpeting, except for a small area, and replace it with tile or laminate. Staining or sealing carpeting is a necessity.

When you are trying to sell your house, it is important that you have decided on the right staging and remodeling approach. That your home staging professional has laid out the best path for you and maybe even given you some options.

Staging can bring out the best features of a home.  Sometimes a home will require remodel work and sometimes just light touches are all that will be needed.

A few basic things will be needed to be done before you stage your home. First, you will need furniture and decor that make your house look lived in. Ensure there is ample seating for guests as well as some food in the kitchen to show you’re welcoming and have enough space for hosting parties.

You’ll also need to buy some throw blankets and pillows so it looks like people are relaxing on the couch or sleeping in their beds at night time. Finally, I would recommend buying plants!

Plants bring nature into the home without having to actually go out into nature.

How Much Does It Cost to Stage a Home – How To Sell A House Antioch CA

The cost to stage a home will vary widely based on many factors.  The average cost to stage a home is $2,500. This includes both the work of professionals and materials such as furniture, décor, etc.

Do you want a home staging estimate for the labor from a professional staging company?  The average cost would be around $1,000-$3,000 depending on the size and condition of your home.

Keep in mind that the size and style of the home and even the price range of a neighborhood might affect the staging cost.  As you can imagine staging a multi-million dollar mansion would be significantly higher than staging a much smaller home in a less expensive town.

Conclusion

You will need to read is a lot of information when preparing to sell your home. You will not find a short cut. There is a tremendous amount of detail that must be satisfied before listing your home for sale. Don’t allow your agent to steer you towards specific products.

You will need to have all the important information decided prior to finalizing a listing contract. The purchasing of the right agent is a big decision that could make or break a sale.

SEO Mad Scientist ???

Hey there scientists and welcome to another exciting week of test results. Today we’re actually going to be closing out a lot of different tests and going over some final data that we have so let’s jump right into it.

1) Emoji in the business name test

We’ve gone over the data quite a bit and over the previous weeks, we observed what appeared to be a slight ranking increase for some terms that related to the Emojis…

With that said after a few more weeks, we’ve seen some back and forth fluctuations and even some drops in our primary keyword leading us to believe that there’s a lot more going on here than just the Emojis and we’re going to have to call this test inconclusive at this point.

Note: Google does not explicitly say that emojis are not allowed in the business name although they do refer to special characters but don’t specifically state emojis. With that said your business name is supposed to reflect your legal business name in which case Google definitely has grounds to suspend and not reinstate your listing if you are using emojis. We have been using these to test their impact on possible rankings but have in no way implemented any emoji strategies on clients.

2) Address removal tests

Last week’s test was interesting in that we removed the address from the business but left a service area that was actually north of the verified City. The end result was that we saw a rankings drop closer to the city center but maintain rankings closer to the service area that was listed.

When reviewing the current results there seems to be a very strong correlation in a drop in rankings where the address was listed. Rankings are staying the same way the service area is however and in some cases even showing better possibly due to Google knowing exactly where this business services now.

3) Our first address removal test

The rankings appeared to explode which we believe was possibly an outlier but let’s take a final look at where the rankings stand currently.

After looking at the new snapshots it’s clear that whatever is going on is just fluctuations in the listing as we’ve lost a lot of our rankings that originally showed for “driveway repair”. We would say this test is inconclusive but most likely demonstrates that removing the address and listing the location in the service area doesn’t have an impact.

Moving on to the final test that we have been doing.

4) GMB reviews

We still have pretty inconclusive data as to if they’re actually causing any ranking fluctuations. Because of this we will hold off on doing a full report until next weekend and will also dig back into some of our previous image tests and some new ones that we have been working with.

Make sure to join us next week when we look at answering the question… do image uploads of any kind help with rankings? And, what type of impact do reviews have on your rankings for local maps organic?

Until next week…

Happy Testing!

Blocked Drains – What To Do

Blocked Drains – What To Do

Blocked drains can be classed as emergency plumbing so if you notice something amiss. Take action quickly.
It can take a while for a clog to build up and become obvious, but once a you have noticed something is wrong, it will get worse and quickly.

blocked drains what to do

The backup of waste and water will often lead to unpleasant odors.
Typically, blockages occur in the narrower pipes of your home, such as sinks or toilets. However, debris can also build up in outdoor drains and cause a blockage.

By being aware of the common signs of a clogged drain to look out for, you can act quickly and fix the problem as soon as possible.

The signs

One of the most apparent signs of a clogged drain is when your toilet, shower, bathtub, or sink drains slowly. When a clog is nasty, the water may not drain at all.

With only one appliance having problems, the blockage is likely limited to a pipe connected to that particular appliance. If everything in the home looks to be affected, then the blockage will be outside in the gully trap or sewage pipes.

The toilet can help identify the extent of the problem – if flushing the toilet causes the water in the shower to rinse, or if running faucets causes the water in the toilet to rise, it is definitely a clogged drain.

So don’t forget to check the external drains and manhole covers on your property for signs of rising water – but only from the outside, as entering manholes is very risky due to the risk of gases and bacteria from the raw sewerage.

The Bad Smells

Foul odours are a clear indication of a block and can be one of the most apparent indicators of an underlying problem – if something has clogged the drain and started to rot, you’ll definitely notice it.

The foul odour can appear even before visible symptoms appear, so it’s important not to ignore unusual smells in the home that can’t be readily identified.

The Noises To Listen For

If your pipes and taps sound different than usual, it could be a sign of being blocked. Gurgling noises from drains, plug holes, toilet flushes and pipes are early warning signs – these sounds occur when air trapped in the pipes and being forced up through the system.

blocked sink

What To Do If You Suspect A Blockage

Each of the above signs is a cause for concern on its own, but if you notice two – or even all three – it’s time to address the problem head-on.

The first thing you should do is determine who is responsible for fixing the problem. Generally, you are only responsible for the parts of the system within your home’s boundaries and used exclusively by your home.

If a blockage is located within your property, you are responsible for clearing it.

However, if only part of the system is within the boundaries of your home and other parts are shared by neighbouring properties. The local water and sewer company is responsible.

With this knowledge, your next step should become clear.
If the blockage is somewhere outside your property, you simply need to report it to your water utility company.

On the other hand, you find evidence that the problem is within your property, then you should take direct action.

You can try unclogging the drain yourself, you can learn more about how to do so here.

However, if you’d rather talk to a plumber, you may need to contact an emergency plumber to clear it quickly

The Best Way To Unclog A Sink

Maintain your kitchen sinks and internal plumbing regularly to clear small clogs.

Small clogs when left will start to attract debris and slime until they become large clogs that block pipes completely.

If you’d rather use an eco-friendly product to keep your drains clear, you can ditch the caustic chemicals found in many caustic cleaners. Use baking soda ( bi carb soda) and vinegar instead.

Start by pouring boiling water down the drain, wait a few minutes, pour a cup of baking soda down the drain, and then add a cup of vinegar and another cup of hot water.

If the water is still running down the drain, slowly fill up the sink and place a plunger over the drain. Use the plunger carefully – if you push too hard, the pressure you create could break the seals on your pipes and cause a leak.

How To Clear A Blocked External Drains

A blocked external drain may seem like a big disaster, but it doesn’t have to be!. You can take steps to solve the problem and get your plumbing systems back up and running.
Need to know how to unclog an outdoor drain?

Step One: Assess the Problem

Get access to your outdoor drain by whatever method you can to open it. For most homes, this means removing the stormwater drain cover. You may need a screwdriver or crowbar to ease it open. Once you have access try and do a drain inspection.

Can you see a blockage on the surface or is it out of sight?

If you think you can handle the task yourself after assessing the problem yourself, proceed to step two. If the problem appears to be far more difficult than you expected, we recommend that you do not tackle the problem yourself and go to step six on this list.

You may also have clogged up gutters and downpipes that are easier to clean, although it’s still worth following the same steps.

Step two: get the right tools for the job.

The most important tool is a DIY drain snake or drain rod. They are long, thin, flexible and often have steel joints. The rod allows you to push through the clog in your drain and get deep into the external pipes. You can easily get them from a hardware store.
Do not bother to try and clear an exterior drain without one

You’ll also need protective clothing as you dig around in the drain. We recommend waterproof clothing – gloves and long sleeves – and protective clothing for your mouth and eyes.

Splashes can contain nasty sewage bacteria that you shouldn’t come into contact with, as they can cause illness or infection.

You’ll also need a bucket and a hose – ideally a pressure hose if you can access one.
Clogged outdoor drain pipes clogged with leaves.

Step 3: Remove any clogs you can reach.

Can you stick your arm in and clear out part of the clog? If so, this is your best chance to move the matter clogging your drains and make it easier to use your drain rods for easy debris removal.

It’s a disgusting job, but well worth it.

Take your bucket, place it next to the drain and start digging. Remove every piece of the clogged material possible. The more you can remove, the easier the next steps will be.

Step 4: Remove the clog.

Try using your drain rod to flush out the clog.
The narrow rod should slide straight through the sludge, although you may need to apply some pressure. Move the rods around to dislodge it. It may take some time and effort if the debris is very large or stubborn, so be patient. Keep submerging until the drainage rods can be moved easily When you can see the clump that is causing the block, it will start to drain and dissolve.

Always turn the rods clockwise. If you turn counterclockwise, stubborn clogs may cause the joints of your rods to come loose!

Step 5: Remove the extra debris

Once you’ve cleared the drain blockage and water is flowing through your outdoor drain again, take some extra time to make sure the problem doesn’t reoccur. Use a hose – preferably a pressure hose – and remove any excess debris accumulated around the drain.

The pressure from the hose should dislodge the remaining elements of the clog that you loosened with your hands or the drain snake. The cleaner you get your drains, the longer it will be before you have to do this again.

Step Six: How do you unclog a drain that won’t unclog?

Call a professional plumber.
Exterior drain problems tend are bigger problems than your usual clogged sink.
While they can be solved through DIY techniques, these methods aren’t always practical.
If they don’t work, we recommend that you don’t try more extreme techniques.
You may cause damage to your external drain and make the problem worse. You will need to call in a drain expert

How To Avoid Blocked Drains

The best way to avoid a claim on home insurance for water or sewerage damage is to take steps to prevent your drains from being damaged in the first place.

When blocked stormwater drains are preventing water from draining properly, the pressure in the drain can rise to dangerous levels and lead to a pipe break or leak and you will have a drain emergency on your hands.

Prevention Is The Best Method

If you’re lucky enough to avoid this problem, a clogged drain will still reduce the life expectancy of your plumbing system, and you may need emergency repairs in the future.

A few simple steps can greatly reduce the likelihood of your kitchen or bathroom drain becoming clogged. You don’t have to be overly vigilant when it comes to drain maintenance.

Here’s How To Prevent Clogged Drains

Install a strainer over your drain to prevent food waste from entering it, and clean it regularly.
The kitchen prevents food scraps from clogging the drain, and in the bathroom, it ensures that hair, soap, dental floss and cotton buds are caught before they enter the plug hole.

Measure your sinks plugs before you buy a drain strainer, as there are several different filter sizes.

If you don’t have a shower drain strainer, remove hair and other substances from the drain every time you take a bath or shower.

Never ever pour grease or oil down the drain. These will solidify when they cool down and other food particles get trapped in the oily grease build ups and you have a nasty blockage to clear. These can happen close to the sink or further down the system. If you have an island bench, Clearing this type of severe blockage is even harder to fix.

Oil and grease are the bread and butter for emergency plumbing services.
Many household drains are clogged after people casually pour cooking oil down them.
Even if the oil has found its way out of your internal pipes you’re not out of the woods yet, as external sewers and gully traps are regularly clogged by food .

Be Careful What You Flush !!

Similarly, if you flush nothing but human waste and toilet paper down the toilet. It may be tempting to dispose of baby wipes in the toilet, but these wipes don’t break down and decompose the same way toilet paper does and can easily clog your toilet.

Occasionally, there will be a plumbing emergency if a child flushes a toy down the toilet . If you have a child that is likely to do this, keep your toilet door closed.

hire a plumber

Having trouble with clogged drains or your plumbing?

Clogged drains can have many causes, so it’s better to trust a drainage plumber
After all, you could make the problem worse and have to pay costly repairs to fix it.
