: Bucky Helms

Bucky got into SEO and Web Design out of necessity while managing his own local pressure washing company back in 2004 and the following years. He learned what it took to be successful online and quickly realized that marketing and SEO was a skill set that could allow him to help others to not have to learn the hard way as he had. He launched BIGdeal Marketing Solutions in late 2014 in order to bring together the many marketing/advertising tools and services that he had acquired over the years in order to better position himself as a brand. This has enabled potential clients to take advantage of his expertise in their various marketing needs. He has since partnered with Web20Ranker as an SEO outsource and continues to help grow both his brands as well as act as Customer Success Manager for Web20Ranker.com

How long have you worked with Web 20?
Almost 2 years

What does your job entail?
Started out part-time doing Campaign Recommendations. Now in management, I help on a broader scale with various special projects as well as oversee Client Success in both sales and implementation.

What do you like most about your job?
The Challenge. Helping clients to ensure they are happy. Problem-solving

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
I have always been a problem solver and good under pressure(as much as anyone can be anyway LOL) I think this helped in my assent to the position I’m in now and look forward to even more growth within Web 20.

How has Web 20 helped you in your career development?
I’m MUCH more comfortable in sales now… “Practice makes perfect” as they say, and I get plenty of sales call practice at web20 every single day! I also have been made privy to many many tools and tactics that would not have been available had I not been in this position. This has helped my business immensely!

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Web 20, whose job would you want?
I like my role here… I don’t want anyone else’s. LOL I joked that I was coming for Chaz’s job early on but I may have since reconsidered… “may” 😉

What advice do you have for prospective Web 20 candidates?
Speak Up and Be Active! The Squeaky Wheel Gets The Grease! Learn and Reciprocate!

What drew you to Web 20 originally? And how has Web 20 changed since?
I had been using web20 as an outsource for a couple of years and was active in the LCT FB group. I really enjoyed the knowledge there and the Web20 team dynamic looked inviting! The technology development in the company has been great to help with and I wish you guys could be a fly on the wall to see what we have in store!

What have you gained from working at Web 20?
Top Tier Experience and Knowledge in Active SEO. I’ve also made great connections and new friends that I’m sure will last a lifetime!

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I enjoy techy stuff… I’m pretty deep into camera/production gear collection and look forward to free time with family and friends to be able to make memories and capture them for others. I do enjoy video production and photography as a service but time is limited with a 2 yr old at home! LOL

One quote you live by?
“Every problem is an opportunity in disguise.” ― John Adams
I never knew who said this originally and always paraphrased but Google said it was him so there it is.

How do you define success?
Happiness in what you do… Freedom of Time… More Money Helps Though.

What has been your favorite project at Web 20?
Building out the Customer Success Dept… It’s a work in progress but being able to influence top-level decision making and having a value-first approach for the end-user is great for my well-being as a nurturer at heart. The Local Marketing Mastermind is a close second though!

What is your greatest fear?

That’s deep… I’m not sure I have ever had to answer that. Probably my failure in others maybe? I don’t want to fail anyone in what I’m doing for them I guess…

Where is your favorite place to be?

Mountains… on a sunny trail. Wilderness

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I cleaned out dried-up Tar Tankers for a couple of summers in high school. It… was… not… great… made some good money as a teen though!

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

I’d be running my own real estate investment firm if I had the capital to start it up!

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

Gary Vee

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Fly AirPlanes

What are 3 words you’d use to describe Web 20?

Growth, Ambition, Knowledge

What is something you learned in the last week?

I’ve been on break for the last week (end of year/holiday break)… but I did learn that Web20 Clients DON’T take a break! SORRY if you’ve been trying to reach me during the holiday.
